First Presbyterian Church, Randalstown
This
was a very unusual project where the existing windows dating back to 1846
were decaying badly, offered poor ventilation and the original stained glass
was suffering.
Fairco McIlhagga removed the beautiful stained and leaded glass from the timber frames and arranged for specialist refurbishment.
The original glass was then "sealed" inside two panes of modern glass and the complete unit was fitted into specially designed and fabricated PVC-U frames which matched the original sizes and arched shape.
Note that the only change was the two small opening casement windows at the bottom of the new windows replacing the impractical opening window which was near the top left of the original and difficult to reach.
All the windows in the church were treated in this way and Fairco McIlhagga were delighted to receive a letter of thanks from the Church Committee, following good comments from many people.
